These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of michigancrimescenecleanup.com (the “Site”) and the free 24/7 referral service operated by Michigan Crime Scene Cleanup (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing the Site, calling our referral line, or submitting a contact form, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
1. What We Do — and What We Don’t Do
Michigan Crime Scene Cleanup is a free referral and dispatch service. We connect individuals, families, and property managers with independent, licensed biohazard cleanup specialists across Michigan.
We do NOT:
- Perform biohazard cleanup, crime scene cleanup, hoarding cleanup, or any physical remediation work ourselves
- Employ the specialists in our referral network — they are independent third-party businesses
- Supervise, direct, or control the work performed by partner specialists
- Provide medical, psychological, legal, or insurance advice
- Guarantee any outcome, timeline, or price quoted by a partner specialist
Any agreement for cleanup services is strictly between you and the partner specialist. We are not a party to that agreement.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our referral service. By using the Site or calling our referral line, you represent that you are of legal age and have the authority to enter into these Terms.
3. Our Referral Service Is Free to You
There is no cost to you to use our referral service. Partner specialists pay us a referral fee when they accept a job. This fee never affects the price you pay for cleanup services — the rate you are quoted by a partner specialist is the same rate you would pay if you contacted them directly.
You are under no obligation to hire any specialist we refer. Free assessments and written quotes are provided by partner specialists, and you may decline any quote for any reason.
4. Emergency and Crisis Situations
Our referral service is not an emergency response service, crisis hotline, or 911 alternative.
- If you are in immediate physical danger, call 911.
- If you are having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (free, confidential, 24/7).
- If you suspect a crime has occurred, contact local law enforcement first. Biohazard cleanup typically begins only after law enforcement releases the scene.
Our role is to connect you with a licensed cleanup specialist — not to provide emergency, medical, or crisis intervention services.
5. Partner Specialists Are Independent
All partner specialists in our referral network are independent businesses. While we make reasonable efforts to work only with licensed, insured, and certified companies, we do not:
- Guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any partner specialist’s work
- Guarantee that any partner specialist is available in your area at the time you call
- Guarantee pricing, insurance coverage, or insurance reimbursement
- Assume any liability for the acts, omissions, or negligence of any partner specialist
You are encouraged to verify a partner specialist’s licensing, insurance, and certifications before hiring them. If you have a dispute with a partner specialist, that dispute is between you and the specialist — not us.
6. No Legal, Medical, or Insurance Advice
Content on this Site — including guides, FAQs, cost estimates, and service descriptions — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal, medical, psychological, or insurance advice.
Cost ranges shown on our Site are general estimates based on typical Michigan jobs. Actual costs depend on your specific situation and are determined solely by the partner specialist after an on-site assessment.
For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney. For medical or mental health advice, consult a qualified healthcare provider. For insurance questions, contact your insurance carrier directly.
7. Call Recording and Monitoring
Calls to our referral line may be recorded or monitored for quality assurance, training, verification, and referral routing. By calling our referral line, you consent to the recording of your call. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may ask us to stop recording at any time, or you may contact us through the Site instead.
8. Your Responsibilities
By using our Site or referral service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your situation, location, and contact details
- Use the Site and service only for lawful purposes
- Not misuse, abuse, or attempt to disrupt the Site or referral service

- Any information you submit that is false, misleading, or unlawful
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site or referral service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us using the information in Section 17 below.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site or referral service after any change means you accept the updated Terms.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed of any changes.
16. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Site and referral service.
